On September 4, China Qiyuan Engineering Corporation under CECEP won the bid to build and manage the residential buildings for doctors of a hospital in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
The project features four buildings of 76 apartments, including 52 one-bedroom apartments and 24 two–bedroom apartments, as well as service facilities such as canteens and gyms. Planned to be completed within 16 months, the project covers an area of 2,800 square meters and a floor space of 3,700 square meters. Designers of the project took into consideration the function, comfort and climate characteristics of islands, while managing to make the layout, colors and style of the buildings suit the environment of Zanzibar.
The residential buildings are the second China-aid project of China Qiyuan in Tanzania. The first one was construction of a vocational hospital in the country. Meanwhile, it is also the company’s 7th China-aid industrial and civil engineering project undertaken in Africa.
