After two years of intensive preparations, the Zambian Industrial Park funded by China National Building Material Group Co., Ltd. (CNBM) welcomed an inauguration ceremony on July 26. Zambian President Edgar Lungu and Zambian Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry among other governmental officials attended the ceremony and visited the sintered brick production line at the industrial park, which was contracted by CECEP Shuangyashan Oriental Wall Material Group Co., Ltd. (Oriental Group).
President Edgar Lungu showed great interest in the project integrating high degree of automation, outstanding product quality, environmentally-friendly feature and cutting-edge technologies when inspecting the production line with an annual yield of 60 million sintered bricks. He also acclaimed the steady equipment operation, scientifically designed production process, advanced building material equipment, and highly efficient labor forces. “This production line for sintered bricks is the one with the largest scale and most advanced technology in Zambia,” he commented.
In June 2017, the consortium between Oriental Group and the southern Africa branch of China Geo-Engineering Corporation won the bid for the production line of sintered bricks at CNBM Zambian Industrial Park. The construction lasted one year and eight days. Technologies and equipment used in this project have reached the international advanced levels, making it a demonstrative project of sintered bricks production in southern part of Africa launched by Oriental Group. It also started a new China-Zambia partnership in the sector of building materials featuring mutually beneficial results and concerted development, and is also demonstrative in further expanding similar projects.
