On July 10-11, CECEP CEO Yu Honghui attended the 5th round of Sino-Japanese Entrepreneurs and Former High-level Officials Dialogue held in Tokyo, Japan.
Zeng Peiyan, former Chinese vice premier and chairman of China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE), and former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda, alongside some 80 business leaders, former officials, experts and scholars from both countries, participated in the event. During the two-day dialogue, the two sides held candid talks on the economic situation and prospects of bilateral economic and trade relations. They called on entrepreneurs on both sides to seize opportunities, explore new areas of cooperation, promote economic and trade exchanges and inject new vitality into bilateral relations. The two sides agreed that in the new era of development, with shared interests and concerns increasing with each passing day, bilateral relations between the two countries are facing new development opportunities, and that they should timely implement the important consensus reached by leaders of the two countries at the G20 Osaka Summit, promote healthy development of both countries, further deepen integration of interests, and enhance mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of technological innovation, intellectual property rights protection, business investment, finance, medical care, health care, energy conservation, environmental protection and tourism and sightseeing.
Co-sponsored by CCIEE and Japan Business Federation, the event is aimed at building a platform for exchange and exhibition of views from Chinese and Japanese business communities and contributing to the promotion of business cooperation and improvement of bilateral relations.
On the sidelines of the event, Yu visited abandoned vehicle dissemble projects of Fuji Car Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Iwamoto Metal Co., Ltd., held talks with executives of Sumitomo Corporation on importing technologies related to membrane module for sewage treatment, and investigated Itami plant and Osaka plant of Sumitomo Corporation. The high-level meeting between CECEP and Sumitomo paved the way for further cooperation and joint project implementation between the two companies.
