On April 18, 2018, Deputy General Manager of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP) Yu Honghui met with a delegation led by Ms. Arianna Censi, deputy mayor of Milan, Italy, at Beijing Energy Conservation Building, headquarters of the CECEP.
Yu extended welcome and sincere greetings to Censi and her delegation on behalf of CECEP Chairman Liu Dashan. Yu gave a brief introduction to the company’s history, development and major projects in the fields of energy conservation, environmental protection and healthcare launched in recent years. He said that CECEP, China’s only central state-owned enterprise mainly engaged in energy conservation and environmental protection, has made great efforts in promoting green development while implementing the Belt and Road Initiative. He also noted that the city of Milan has advanced technology and rich managerial experience in waste treatment and circular economy, and the CECEP attaches great importance to cooperation with Italian partners. Yu stressed that the CECEP is willing to build closer business relations with the city of Milan and work together to facilitate cooperation in energy technology and ecological improvement, as well as industry-university-research collaboration, so as to achieve mutual benefits, win-win results and joint development.
Censi expressed her gratitude and conveyed the cordial greetings and proposals for cooperation from the Mayor of Milan. She also introduced the basic facts about the city of Milan and the delegation’s schedule for this visit. The delegation gave a presentation on Milan’s development in urban garbage treatment, circular economy, healthcare and new materials. Then the two sides shared their views on cooperation in such areas as environmental protection, resource recycling, healthcare and industry-university-research collaboration. Both sides agreed that their communication should be strengthened and pragmatic cooperation should be carried out based on their respective advantages, so that they can make contributions to economic cooperation and technical exchange between China and Italy in the fields of energy conservation, environmental protection and healthcare.
Chinese in Italy Li Runfu, member of the European Union Policies Committee Roberto Cociancich and member of Italian Ministry for Economic Development Daniela Mainini were present at the meeting. Executives of CECEP General Office, Department of Cooperation, China New Era Group and CECEP & CIECC Environmental Investment Management also attended the meeting.
