The fourth session of the 13th National People’s Congress (NPC) and the fourth session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), known as the “two sessions,” took place in Beijing recently. CECEP Chairman Song Xin, also a member of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the two sessions and presented proposals on green development of the country.
Song submitted five proposals this year, and the first one is aimed at addressing a tough challenge facing environmental management in China for a long time — bulk industrial solid waste disposal. He suggested institutional and mechanism innovation on an early date to strengthen comprehensive utilization of bulk industrial solid waste.
He believes that transforming the waste into resources to change the burden into wealth is inevitable for comprehensive utilization of bulk industrial solid waste, which also serves the needs of ecological civilization construction. Therefore, to strengthen the comprehensive utilization of bulk industrial solid waste, innovating relevant systems and mechanisms is a pressing task.
Song Xin put forward three suggestions: establish a national information platform for comprehensive utilization of industrial solid waste, establish a new type of demonstration base for comprehensive utilization of industrial solid waste, carry out research on key technologies for comprehensive utilization of industrial solid waste.
