Nanshan Village is the designated poverty alleviation village of CECEP Environmental Protection Investment Development (Jiangxi) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Jiangxi Company”). A provincial-level poverty-stricken village in Jiangxi, Nanshan consists of eight natural villages, which was home to a total of 519 households with 1,962 people, including 27 poor households with 92 people. The small mountain village used to have inconvenient transportation, piles of garbage and backward economy.
Beginning in 2015, Jiangxi Company has provided generous assistance to the village. Thanks to unremitting efforts by three resident first secretaires in succession and a poverty relief fund of nearly 500,000 yuan from Jiangxi Company, the yesterday’s dirty, messy and poor village has transformed into a neat and beautiful new rural area. In 2016, Nanshan was removed from the list of poor villages, and in 2019 all its poor households came out of poverty.
