CECEP’s “Alleviating Poverty Through Smart Medical Care” charity program was launched on July 28 in Songxian County, Henan Province.
At the launch ceremony, CECEP donated a health poverty alleviation fund of nearly 5 million yuan to Songxian to help the county build a three-tier joint medical service system involving county, township and village levels.
One of Songxian County’s 10 major livelihood projects launched in 2020, the poverty alleviation program makes Songxian the only county in Henan Province that has introduced smart technologies into medical care in hospitals at county, township and village levels. State-of-the-art technologies such as big data based robot consultation, remote diagnosis and treatment by experts from provincial or municipal hospitals, and tracking management of chronic diseases will be used to solve the existing difficulties such as uneven distribution of health resources, limited access to high-quality medical resources, lack of general practitioners at community levels and difficulty of getting medical treatment in remote mountainous areas. Aiming to ensure minor disease treatment within the village, serious disease treatment within the county, as well as effective management of chronic diseases, the project is of great significance to improving the physical well-being of local residents, solving the problem of difficult and expensive medical treatment, and preventing poverty caused by illness or a return to poverty due to illness.
