In mid-July, just as the overall situation of China’s COVID-19 containment was improving, dozens of newly confirmed cases and asymptomatic cases of coronavirus infection were reported in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The Xinjiang Branch of CECEP Wind Power Corporation responded quickly. The company strengthened pandemic-control measures, prepared enough medical supplies and equipment, and guaranteed the purchase of the virus-related medicines.

According to plans, the company would practice a regular overhaul in Jingxia Wind Farm from July 14 to 16, and required an outage. Facing the pandemic, the Xinjiang company optimized its plans for equipment testament and defects management during the outage, and sent staff to follow the grid routes and record the work progress. Meanwhile, the company coordinated with the commissioned units to speed up defects management and pre-test of power transmission and transformation equipment of its in-field booster stations. As a result, the overhaul was completed six hours earlier than planned, which restored the generation of electricity as soon as possible and secured normal production during the outbreak of the coronavirus.
