The Climate Investment and Finance Article Call 2020 event was launched at the online ceremony for China’s National Low-carbon Day, which fell on July 2 this year.
At the launch ceremony, Li Gao, director-general of the Department of Climate Change of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and director of Climate Investment and Finance Association (CIFA) at the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, noted that the event would focus on key tasks of global response to climate change, target the investment and financing difficulties for climate projects, and invite scholars from around the world to contribute new thoughts and share their practices on climate investment and financing.
Xie Zhenhua, special advisor on Climate Change Affairs of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and president of the Climate Change and Sustainable Development Institute at Tsinghua University, and Ernesto Zedillo, former president of Mexico, who co-chaired the review panel, respectively delivered a speech via video link at the event.
The event was jointly organized by more than 20 top universities at home and abroad as well as 12 prestigious academic journals, including China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP), the CIFA, the University of Edinburgh Business School, the Bartlett School of Construction and Project Management of University College London, School of Management and Economics at the Beijing Institute of Technology, and the Institutes of Science and Development at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
