To further implement the important instructions made by Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, at the meeting on winning the tough battle of poverty alleviation, as well as guiding principles reached at the video conference of centrally-administered enterprises on poverty alleviation, China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP) convened a video conference on April 27 on advancing the effort of pairing assistance for the poverty-stricken county of Songxian. CECEP Chairman Song Xin and CEO Yu Honghui, as well as Xu Xin, secretary of the county’s CPC Committee, and Zong Yuhong, magistrate of the county, attended the meeting.
At the conference, Yu Honghui briefed on CECEP’s 2020 plan related to pairing assistance for Songxian County, and Zong Yuhong reviewed the assistance projects conducted by CECEP in the county and gave advice on the work in the next stage. Xu Xin thanked CECEP for its achievements in helping Songxian combat poverty, and expressed his hope that CECEP would continue paying attention to and supporting the county’s effort to win the tough battle of poverty alleviation through high-quality development.
Song Xin congratulated Songxian on its success in getting rid of the title “poverty-stricken county.” He pledged that CECEP will earnestly fulfill its political and social responsibilities as a centrally-administered enterprise and push ahead poverty alleviation efforts by increasing fund investment, conducting personnel training, promoting employment of poor people, dispatching officials to support the county, and reducing poverty through promoting consumption of local agricultural products. While continuing to push forward such projects as village lighting, aid for education, and poverty alleviation through health assistance, CECEP has also strengthened research and exploration of projects including poverty alleviation through education, industrial development and e-commerce, in hopes to foster a long-term poverty reduction mode for Songxian and help the county shake off poverty, get rich and realize rural revitalization.
