In the battle against the epidemic, workers serving the wind farms under CECEP have maintained their posts to ensure stable supply of electricity in the regions they are responsible for, contributing to the virus combat with practical actions.

Around 8:00 a.m. on January 30, the No. 3 main transformer of the Manjing Wind Farm of Zhangbei Wind Power Company tripped, affecting the normal operation of 33 wind turbines. Liu Xiaohe, head of the wind farm who was then accompanying his hospitalized daughter in his hometown, responded quickly to the emergency by driving nearly 200 kilometers to the wind farm. Upon arrival, he immediately led the staff as well as workers from the maintenance agency to carry out emergency repairs. Thanks to their efforts, the No. 3 main transformer finally resumed operation at 4 p.m.

Facing the sudden outbreak of the epidemic, Qu Yongde, Party chief of Hami Company and team leader of Yandun Wind Farm, voluntarily gave up his vacation and returned to his post, leaving his eight-month-old son and two-year-old daughter in his hometown of Gansu. As of press date, he has been working at the frontline for 17 days in a row.

Fu Chao, a millennial employee at Yundingshan Wind Farm, postponed his engagement ceremony originally scheduled for January 28 and instead stayed at work with everyone else to combat the epidemic. “My personal interests can be sacrificed for the greater good of all,” he said. “What I give up is the joy of the moment, but I care more about the prevention and control of the epidemic."
