On January 30, CECEP held a Party committee meeting, a chief executives’ meeting and an interim meeting of the board of directors. The meetings decided to, with support from its subsidiaries CECEP Ecotech Co., Ltd. and China National Environmental Protection Group, donate 30 million yuan (RMB4.3 million) to Hubei Province, including 24 million yuan (RMB3.5 million) to Wuhan and 6 million yuan (RMB861,000) to Xianning and other cities, to help the province’s efforts in preventing and controlling the pneumonia epidemic caused by a novel coronavirus. Additionally, the group company also planned to donate protective clothing, masks and other protective materials in batches to Wuhan, Xianning and other cities.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic, the Party committee of the CECEP has attached great importance to the issue and set up a steering group for the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus infection, which is headed by Party Secretary and Chairman Song Xin. The steering group immediately studied the epidemic situation and deployed the prevention and control work, requiring all units of the group to respond quickly to give top priority to people’s health and safety and focus on regard the prevention and control of the epidemic as the most important work at present.
The CECEP Ecotech Co., Ltd. and China National Environmental Protection Group under CECEP joined hands with the local public health and epidemic prevention departments to carry out medical waste disposal, special solid waste treatment, street disinfection and other operations, while their enterprises in Jingzhou, Xiaogan and Jiayu cities undertook local epidemic-related environmental protection tasks. CECEP Water Company has taken various measures to secure safe drinking water for local residents and stable, reliable operation of sewage treatment facilities. According to the unified arrangement of the group company, China Geo-engineering Corporation and Yantai Valiant Co., Ltd. under CECEP imported protective clothing, masks and other materials needed for epidemic prevention, doing its bid to help with material supplies and pool positive energy in fighting the epidemic.
