On December 22, 2018, organized by the Chinese Contractors’ Chamber of Commerce in Tanzania, representatives from Chinese-funded companies visited a local orphanage to donate study supplies and living necessities as Christmas gifts to the 20 children living here. The East Africa Branch of China Geo-Engineering Corporation (CGC) under CECEP participated in the activity, making its due contribution to public welfare.

It is the common responsibility of the whole society to care and help orphanages as a vulnerable population. The Chinese Contractors’ Chamber of Commerce in Tanzania expected that through this activity a bridge of love would be built and seeds of love and hope would be sowed into the hearts of the children. The charity move is also expected to propel localized construction of the Chinese-funded companies and disseminate their social responsibility performance and contributions to the development of local communities.

In this activity, CGC East Africa Branch donated 10 bags of flour, five barrels of cooking oil, 20 volumes of children’s books, 30 exercise books, 20 boxes of color pencils, five sets of toys, 30-plus sets of toothbrushes and toothpaste, 20 bottles of shampoo and 30-plus soap bars. In the future, the company will continuously take an active part in charity programs for the good of society.
