Over past years, CECEP has invested in accommodation, transport, sightseeing, shopping and entertainment infrastructures in Shichang Village to boost local tourism. It linked up a disconnected 800-meter village road, built a two-kilometer road in the Stone Tribe scenic area, drilled a deep well, launched a marketing program for local eggs, established an organic egg brand, and promoted local specialties among tourists. What's more, the company bought Chinese honey locust (Gleditsia sinensis) seedlings, and distributed them to local farmers free of charge, which gave a strong boost to plantation of local features.
After changing its name to Stone Tribe, Shichang Village has integrated its tourism resources and built a number of facilities, including a tourist center, the entrance of the scenic area, an eco-trail, a greening project along the Jiujiu Road, a hotel and a museum. These have transformed an impoverished village into a beautiful neighborhood and 3A scenic spot.
