On October 19, the International Symposium on Sustainable Development (referred to as "the Symposium"), organized by the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Beijing International Exchange Association Sustainable Development Committee, opened in Beijing. The Symposium aims to create a high-level global platform for dialogue under the theme “Harmony Between Humanity and Nature, Harmony Among People, and Inner Peace”. The event brings together global leaders to explore sustainable development strategies and approaches, promote the philosophy of ecological civilization, and foster global consensus and action on ecological sustainability. More than 30 international guests and over 300 domestic experts and scholars attended. The Chairman of CECEP was invited to participate and deliver a speech.
In his remarks, Song Xin emphasized that CECEP, as a central enterprise with a focus on energy conservation and environmental protection, is guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization. Adopting the principle that "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", CECEP is committed to creating a cleaner, greener and healthier environment and enhancing people's quality of life. After over 40 years of development, CECEP now operates across three core sectors: energy conservation and clean energy supply, ecological protection and resource recycling, and new energy development and equipment manufacturing, alongside its chemical reagents, health products, and related services. CECEP is dedicated to strengthening the green foundation for high-quality economic and social development and actively contributes to the construction of a beautiful China.
Song Xin highlighted CECEP's active role in climate finance and investment, contributing to national strategies through top-level design. The company developed and issued the Guidelines for the Classification of Climate Finance-supported Projects, a standard for the sector, and formulated the Green Bond-supported Project Catalog (2021 Edition) to advance green finance aligned with national strategic goals. CECEP also spearheaded the release of China's first Green Bank standard, the Guidelines for the Evaluation of Climate-friendly Financial Institutions (TCSTE 0289-2022). In addition, CECEP provides comprehensive services for national climate finance pilot projects, including standards development, project library construction, software platform development, and investment and financing project services, driving effective local pilot project implementation.
