From November 11 to 22, the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) was held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Zhu Qingfeng, Chief Accountant of CECEP and Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Climate Investment and Finance Association of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, was invited to attend the conference. He delivered a keynote speech titled "Innovative Practices in Climate Investment and Financing by CECEP" at the Climate Investment and Financing side event.
In his speech, Zhu Qingfeng highlighted CECEP's efforts to establish itself as the leading brand in China’s green and low-carbon industrial funds. The company has actively developed green and low-carbon funds and creatively utilized sovereign loans from international financial organizations through fund-based approaches, effectively leveraging more social capital to support green and low-carbon development in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and surrounding areas. CECEP also aims to become the first green finance company in the industry by driving innovation in green and low-carbon credit services. In addition, CECEP strives to become a leading enterprise in domestic green financial services, contributing to the development of green finance through initiatives like formulating key industry standards, including the Guidelines for Evaluating Climate-friendly Financial Institutions and the Classification Guide for Climate Investment and Financing Projects, which address critical gaps in the sector.
Zhu Qingfeng emphasized that CECEP is committed to working with all sectors of society to continue playing a leading and exemplary role. The company will fully and accurately implement the new development philosophy, actively promote climate investment and financing initiatives, support green, low-carbon and high-quality development, and contribute to achieving China's carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. CECEP will also continue to advance ecological civilization and the construction of a beautiful China.
The Climate Investment and Financing side event, part of the China Pavilion series at COP29, was co-hosted by CECEP and the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences. It was jointly organized by the CECEP Eco Product Development Research Center and the Climate Investment and Finance Association of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences.
