Recently, the Chinese Embassy in Uganda commended collectives and individuals with outstanding performances in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The Eastern African branch of New Era Group Corporation, a subsidiary of CECEP, was granted the title of “Model Collective in Internal Epidemic Prevention and Control.”

On January 25, China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment unveiled the 2020 National Directory of Advanced Pollution Control Technologies (fields of solid waste and soil pollution control). Three technologies developed by China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP) were included: the “waste circuit board oxygen-enriched top-blown bath smelting technology” developed by CECEP Engineering Technology Research Institute, the “underground water extraction-injection dual treatment technology for organic contaminated sites”

Recently, the “NB/T10590-2021 Technical Specifications for Lightning Protection Transformation of Multi-lightning Wind Farm Collector Lines” compiled by CECEP Wind Power (Zhangbei) Co., Ltd. was awarded Chinese energy industry standard certification, which was announced in 2021 Document No.1 by the National Energy Administration.

At the recent 10th China Energy Enterprise Informatization Conference held by China Information Industry Association in Beijing, CECEP Solar Energy Technology (Zhenjiang) Co., Ltd. won a 2020 China Energy Enterprise Informatization Management and Innovation Award.

Currently, construction of an air-film training hall at the national comprehensive training base for ice and snow sports, a supporting venue for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games, is in full swing. Beijing Geotechnical and Investigation Engineering Institute, a subsidiary of China Geo-engineering Corporation under CECEP, participates in the project. To make sure that the training hall is put into use as soon as possible, the project team of the institute, responding to the call for an environmentally-friendly Olympic Games, is racing against the clock to advance high-quality construction while maintaining epidemic prevention and control measures and attaching importance to environmental protection. It aims to create an excellent project and make a contribution to the Beijing Winter Olympics.

On January 18, the groundbreaking ceremony for a vocational-technical school in Kagera Region, Tanzania, a project contracted by China Qiyuan Engineering Corporation under CECEP, was held in Bukoba, the regional capital. On January 14, CECEP CEO Yu Honghui held talks with Nozomi Ushijima, executive vice president of Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd. of Japan and met with visiting delegation headed by general manager of a Shenzhen-based subsidiary of Sumitomo at CECEP headquarters in Beijing.

On January 13, CECEP held a work conference on consolidating and expanding the achievements in poverty alleviation and promoting rural vitalization in 2021. Chairman Song Xin reviewed the group’s work on poverty relief from 2016 to 2020, especially targeted poverty alleviation work in 2020, deployed the key tasks of 2021 concerning consolidation of poverty alleviation outcomes and promotion of rural vitalization, and released the “CECEP Report on Targeted Poverty Alleviation 2016-2020.”
