Recently, the results of the Construction Industry Safety Award Scheme 2019/2020 were unveiled. The scheme was jointly sponsored by 16 agencies of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region including Labor Department, Occupational Safety and Health Council, and Development Bureau as well as industrial associations.
The Slope Improvement Works Project along EAL Phase 5B (Contract No.: K1499.B-18C) of MTR Corporation, undertaken by China Geo-Engineering Corporation (Hong Kong) Industrial Co., Ltd. (CGCHK), won the Golden Award for Decoration and Maintenance Projects (contractors) and the Award for the Best Occupational Safety Performance in High-place Maintenance Project (subcontractors).

The Construction Industry Safety Award Scheme is a large-scale safety promotion campaign launched by the Hong Kong Labor Department and its partners in the construction industry in Hong Kong, with an aim to increase the awareness of occupational safety and health among contractors, project managers and construction workers and foster a sound safety culture. Inaugurated in 1999, the scheme has become the most influential safety promotion activity in Hong Kong and an important annual event for the construction industry.
