Since February 3, China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP) has taken measures to assign specific preliminary tasks on work and production resumption and guide its subsidiaries specializing in medical waste treatment, solid waste treatment, water supply, clean energy and equipment manufacturing to resume operations and stabilize production in an orderly manner, while strictly implementing anti-epidemic measures and taking into account factors such as frontline employee protection, performance of contracts, engineering construction and qualified emissions. By April 8, the work resumption rate of production enterprises under CECEP had reached 100 percent, and that of all kinds of subsidiaries had reached 99.16 percent.
As a centrally administered enterprise specializing in energy conservation and environmental protection, CECEP leads its domestic peers in the comprehensive capacity of solid waste treatment, and has been dubbed the “national team for hazardous and medical waste treatment.” So far, more than 14,000 employees of CECEP’s 98 subsidiaries have been directly devoted to providing service and support for epidemic prevention and control around China. They have totally treated 6,339 tons of medical waste, including 1,322 tons related to COVID-19, and 999,800 tons of household garbage. Moreover, the sewage treated and clean water and tap water supplied by the company totaled 140 million tons. These efforts provide solid support for winning the tough battle against the epidemic.
