CECEP Invited to Participate in the Main Event of 2025 National Ecology Day

On the morning of August 15, the opening ceremony of the Main Event of 2025 National Ecology Day and the Symposium on Implementing the Concept that “Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains Are Invaluable Assets” was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Li Qiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Officials from the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Natural Resources, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, as well as representatives from Beijing and Zhejiang Province, experts and scholars, and representatives from international organizations spoke at the symposium. Responsible officials from relevant central and state organs, provincial and municipal leaders, and representatives from international organizations, research institutions, industry associations, enterprises, and grassroots units also attended. Liao Jiasheng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of CECEP, was invited to participate in the meeting.

In the afternoon, the “20th Anniversary Achievement Release and Experience Sharing Conference on the Concept that ‘Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains Are Invaluable Assets’” was held at the Beijing Grand Canal Museum.

At the achievement release conference, major results marking the 5th anniversary of China’s declaration to promote green transformation and achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality were unveiled, along with outcomes in national ecological protection and restoration, exemplary cases, key achievements in the implementation system of Beautiful China Initiative, landmark results of the “Three-North” Shelter Forest Project, key ecological civilization construction results in Beijing, important outcomes of Xi Jinping’s Thought on Ecological Civilization in Zhejiang, and 20 technological achievements in China’s ecological civilization construction over the past 20 years.

The experience sharing conference on ecological civilization construction was conducted in two stages. In the first stage, representatives and experts from international organizations including the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), World Economic Forum (WEF), World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and recipients of the UN Champions of the Earth Award, shared their insights on the international impact of the “Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains Are Invaluable Assets” concept. In the second stage, representatives from national green development demonstration zones, national ecological civilization pilot zones, national carbon peaking pilot cities, national pilot cities for ecological product value realization, enterprises, and industry associations exchanged experiences on green development, ecological civilization construction, comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development, and the realization of ecological product value.

Du Le, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of CECEP, was invited to attend the afternoon meeting and, as the sole corporate representative, shared experiences during the second stage of the ecological civilization construction experience sharing session. Relevant heads from the research center also attended the event.
