Recently, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued the Notice on Publishing the List of Engineering Technology Centers under the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (Huan Ke Cai Han [2026] No. 17). The Engineering Technology Center for Industrial Contaminated Sites and Groundwater Remediation, established with CECEP as the supporting entity, successfully passed the special assessment and was officially included in the Ministry’s operational management framework for engineering technology centers for the 2026–2030 period. This assessment was conducted in strict accordance with the Administrative Measures for Engineering Technology Centers of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, covering 38 centers approved before 2025. In the end, 30 centers passed the evaluation.
The successful assessment marks full recognition by the Ministry of the center’s achievements in construction and operation. Going forward, the center will follow the Ministry’s deployment, continue to focus on industrial contaminated sites and groundwater remediation, deepen efforts in key technology research, achievement transformation and demonstration applications, and comprehensively enhance its innovation capacity and technical support capabilities. It aims to contribute more to high-quality industry development, the advancement of ecological civilization, the fight against pollution and the realization of a Beautiful China.
