On March 17, the 100 MW wind power project in Aksai County, developed by CECEP Wind-power Gansu Branch, officially obtained government approval, marking a significant advancement in CECEP's strategic deployment of new energy bases within China's Desert, Gobi and Wasteland (DGW) regions.

Strategically located along the critical power transmission corridor connecting Xinjiang, Gansu and Qinghai provinces, the project resides within the Kumtag Desert New Energy Base currently being planned by the Jiuquan Municipal Government. This positioning ensures substantial growth potential for future energy development.

The project will install 16 wind turbine units with individual capacities of 6.25 MW, complemented by supporting facilities including box-type substations, transmission lines, access roads, maintenance roads, and auxiliary infrastructure. Designed to generate 280 million kWh of clean electricity annually, the installation is projected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 234,000 metric tons while saving 87,000 metric tons of standard coal consumption each year. This initiative holds strategic importance for optimizing Gansu's energy mix, improving ecological conditions and promoting sustainable socioeconomic development.
