On September 30, CECEP Wind-power successfully connected its first wind turbine equipped with a 100% domestically developed PLC controller and main control system to the grid at Lvnaobao Wind Farm. This milestone marks the full localization and independent controllability of main control systems in China’s wind power industry. It represents a major breakthrough in ensuring national energy security and advancing high-quality development of the country’s high-end equipment manufacturing sector, an important new milestone in the localization of wind power applications.

The domestically developed PLC controller and main control system are research achievements under the National Key R&D Program “Key Technologies and Applications of Wind Turbine Main Control Systems”, in which CECEP Wind-power played an active role. During the R&D process, the company undertook studies on typical faults and failures of wind farm main control systems, developed relevant standards for adaptability testing of localized main control systems, and conducted compatibility and prototype validation tests. After more than two years of collaborative efforts, the project team made breakthroughs in key technologies such as hardware localization, environmental software integration, network and data security, and advanced control algorithms, ultimately achieving complete domestic technology substitution. In May 2025, CECEP Wind-power began adapting the 100% localized PLC and main control system to the Lvnaobao wind turbines. Through both laboratory and on-site operational testing, the system demonstrated high reliability and safety, laying a solid foundation for large-scale application and promotion.
