From March 28 to 31, the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2023 was held in Boao, Hainan with the theme of "An Uncertain World: Solidarity and Cooperation for Development amid Challenges". Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. Liu Jiaqiang, general manager of the group company, was invited to attend the opening ceremony and the sub-forum on Corporate Social Value, and discussed with the guests on how to build an ESG system and information disclosure mechanism in line with the actual economic development of China and promote high-quality corporate development.
Liu Jiaqiang said at the forum that in the trend of carbon-neutrality strategy, ESG development has become an important concept of global consensus. As a central enterprise mainly engaged in energy conservation and environmental protection, CECEP has always been guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization and upheld the concept of sustainable development. While pursuing the comprehensive value of economy, society and environment, and continuously making positive contributions to pollution reduction and carbon reduction, it extensively participates in the formulation of ESG standards. In addition, it has assisted more than 100 well-known enterprises in various industries to carry out whole-process ESG management consulting services, contributing to better realization of the "double carbon" strategy and fulfillment of more social responsibilities.
Liu Jiaqiang stressed that the focus of ESG management is to integrate ESG management concepts into the production and operation of enterprises, and to continuously improve comprehensive management capability and efficiency. The main problem facing the development of ESG is that there is no unified evaluation and disclosure standard yet. The determination of enterprises to transform to low-carbon development is the fundamental driving force for ESG management to go further. CECEP is willing to play a leading role as a central enterprise and work with all parties at home and abroad and all sectors of society to build an ESG ecosystem and promote green low-carbon transformation and high-quality economic development.
During the forum, Liu Jiaqiang was also invited to attend a symposium on building a new development pattern and accelerating the construction of a free trade port with Chinese characteristics.
