On June 2, the United Nations Global Compact held the 2022 Leaders Summit China Town Hall plenary with the theme of Sustainable, Inclusive and Just Transition Towards a Shared Global Development Vision. Ms Sanda Ojiambo, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations Global Compact, delivered a speech. H.E. Zhang Jun, Permanent Representative and Ambassador of China to the United Nations, and Mr Ren Hongbin, Vice Chairman of State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of State Council of China (SASAC) and Board Member of United Nations Global Compact, delivered keynote speeches. Song Xin, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of the group company, was invited to attend and speak at the plenary via video.
In the CEO roundtable session, Song Xin elaborated on the main challenges and paths for Chinese enterprises to achieve the goal of "Towards Net Zero - Chinese Enterprises Overcoming Difficulties". CECEP is promoting the realization of carbon peak and neutrality and implementing the Paris Agreement. He also shared typical cases of CECEP in innovation and cooperation in low-carbon transformation.
Staff of relevant departments of the headquarters of the group company and of some subsidiaries attended the meeting online.
