When spring returns to the earth, mountains and rivers get green. It has been five years since the construction of the Xiong’an New Area, which is making great strides towards the vision of building the world's first city with no waste, no smoke, and full-time use of clean energy. CECEP actively implements major national strategies, gives full play to its comprehensive technical expertise, fulfills its social responsibilities as a central enterprise, provides clean energy for Xiong’an New Area, serves the people, and benefits Xiong’an.
Innovative mode as a new way to provide clean energy. Xiong’an Citizen Service Center is the first large-scale infrastructure project in Xiong'an New Area to be publicly tendered, including the office building and living service facilities of the Xiong’an New Area Administrative Committee. It is the administrative organization and command center of Xiong'an New Area. CECEP Building Energy Conservation Co.,Ltd. undertakes the design, construction and development tasks of comprehensive energy supply system and sewage treatment system of Xiong'an Citizen Service Center. The project uses "shallow geothermal energy+reclaimed sewage water" as the main cold and heat source, and provides the whole park with winter heating, summer cooling and 24-hour domestic hot water supply, as well as domestic sewage treatment services through technologies such as "heat pump+dual storage of cold and heat". Simply put, it can be attributed to "energy supply+environmental governance".
So, what is good about the comprehensive energy system? The following set of data clearly tells what “green goes first” means.
"The system draws 7048MWh from the geothermal energy of the shallow underground layer, which can save 866.20 tons of standard coal in equivalence, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 2,269.44 tons, equivalent to planting 100,000 trees a year." According to the person in charge of the project, the project completely uses clean energy with no carbon dioxide and air pollutant emissions. It provides a feasible regional energy service way for thoroughly implementing the prevention and control of air pollution in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and solving the prominent problems of regional environmental pollution caused by air quality.
The project started in December, 2017, only took over 90 days, and was completed at the end of March, 2018. It achieved the goal of safe, green and clean energy supply, and won many awards such as "China Construction Engineering Luban Award (National Quality Engineering)" in that year. Up to now, the project has been running smoothly for 4 years. It has won unanimous praise from Xiong'an New Area Management Committee and the owners, and has been awarded the banner of "Central Enterprise Role Model of Strength and Responsibility".
Environmental governance to create a green and ecologically livable new area. In November, 2017, Xiong'an New Area launched the "Millennium Forest" project, which aims to build a forest that will accompany the growth of the Millennium City around the construction of a green and ecologically livable new city. Techand, a subsidiary of CECEP, participated in the construction of the fourth tender section of the 100,000-mu dual-purpose forest project, with a total afforestation area of more than 13,000 mu. CECEP Techand planted seedlings in spring and autumn with a planting period of 58 days each, and nearly 500,000 seedlings were planted in total, so as to achieve "Xiong’an quality" with "CECEP speed".
In March, 2022, when everything came back to life, and the ice and snow in South Juma River in Xiong'an New Area melted, the construction along the river bank was in full swing. The first bid section of the ecological landscape upgrading project (ecological embankment and floodplain) of South Juma River (Phase II), which was built with the participation of CECEP Techand, was advancing vigorously. After the completion of the project, the ecological landscape level of South Juma River will be significantly improved, and it will become a new highlight, landmark and photogenic spot.
From 2019 to 2020, CECEP Techand actively participated in the afforestation project in Xiong'an New Area for two consecutive years. Up to now, it has participated in afforestation with an area of more than 22,000 mu and planted more than 2.2 million seedlings.
The lighting project adding luster to the new area. In December, 2020, 11 series of products from Lattice High-tech, a subsidiary of CECEP, such as LED street lamps, LED tunnel lamps and LED classroom lamps, were successfully listed in the procurement catalogue of Xiong'an New Area Construction Headquarters, becoming the only central enterprise listed in the first batch. As a central enterprise, participating in and successfully being shortlisted for the winning bid of Xiong'an New Area Centralized Procurement Platform is the sincere feedback to CECEP for its persistent and high-standard service to users, which shows the responsibility and mission of central enterprises.
With the completion and acceptance of the comprehensive treatment project of rural domestic sewage in Rongcheng County undertaken by China Geo-engineering Corporation, a subsidiary of CECEP, the domestic sewage of over 21,000 villagers in 9 villages of 4 townships was treated in time, which played a positive role in improving the living environment of local villagers. At present, CECEP gives full play to its advantages in the whole industrial chain in the field of energy conservation and environmental protection, and further helps the development of clean energy industry in Xiong’an New Area such as shallow geothermal energy and ecological environment treatment, thus contributing CECEP efforts to building a national clean energy demonstration city.
