As a central enterprise, CECEP has been actively playing the major role in the implementation of a series of major national strategies, continuing to act as a leader and fulfilling the mission of central enterprises.
As one of the green power suppliers of Beijing Winter Olympics, CECEP fully guarantees the green power for the Winter Olympics, and lights up the venues with infinite "wind" and "light". According to statistics, during the Winter Olympics, Lvnaobao Wind Farm, owned by CECEP Wind-power Corporation, and Huailai Photovoltaic Power Station, owned by CECEP Solar, provided 15.11 million kilowatt-hours of green power for the Winter Olympics venues and supporting service facilities, accounting for 13.5% of the total trading volume of green power during the Winter Olympics.
This is just one concrete action of CECEP bearing in mind the country’s most fundamental interests, serving major national activities and helping the development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
As the main platform for pollution control in China's Yangtze River Economic Belt, CECEP has deployed a number of enterprises around 11 provinces along the Yangtze River, and has also set up CECEP Ecotech co., Ltd., aiming to focus more on key work and continue to deepen the protection of the Yangtze River.
Anhui Maanshan Quarry Mine Ecological Environment Restoration Project
Up to now, CECEP has implemented nearly 500 projects on energy conservation, environmental protection and green development along the Yangtze River Economic Belt, involving more than 130 billion yuan. Pilot projects in four cities of Xianning, Hengyang, Huzhou and Bijie have made significant progress. Among them, Xianning Jiayu Project uses the systematic management mode of "mountains, rivers, forest, fields, lakes, grass and sand" to comprehensively manage and repair various ecosystems such as abandoned mines, the Yangtze River shoreline, rivers and lakes, supplemented by the smart ambient monitoring system. After treatment, the contaminated small lake has become an urban water ecological park. The deforested Maanshan has become an ecological park. The illegal construction along the Yangtze River shoreline has become a demonstration zone for the improvement of living environment along the Yangtze River and a photogenic spot. In 2021 the sand table of this project was selected into the "Historical Exhibition Hall of the Communist Party of China" and displayed as an exhibit permanently.

To answer the question of "Overall Yangtze River Protection" well, we should not only rely on enterprises, but also unite the joint efforts of all parties. Apart from the continuous expansion of the business layout of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, CECEP also actively plays a platform role, gathering local governments, enterprises, scientific research institutions, social organizations, etc., constantly exploring innovative systematic governance mode, business operation mode and multi-stakeholder cooperation mode, so as to jointly write the answer sheet of "Overall Yangtze River Protection".
Based on the experience gained in undertaking the main platform of pollution control in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, CECEP has also carried out a series of useful explorations in implementing the strategy of ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin. By the end of 2021, CECEP has set up more than 160 subsidiaries at all levels in nine provinces and regions of the Yellow River Basin. More than 470 energy conservation and environmental protection projects have been implemented, involving over 90 billion RMB, and more than 150 key follow-up projects involving over 70 billion RMB.
Song Xin, Party secretary and chairman of CECEP, revealed that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, CECEP took the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Yellow River Basin as the two key points of the market regional layout, and worked out special plans respectively, which determined the strategic goal of increasing the contracted amount by no less than 50 billion RMB and striving to reach 80 billion RMB in the Yellow River Basin during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Five major projects, such as clean energy substitution and comprehensive energy utilization project, comprehensive water resources utilization and water environment treatment project, solid and hazardous waste disposal capacity building and resource utilization project, ecological protection and restoration project, and regional green development project, which are mainly implemented in the Yellow River Basin, are defined, therefore the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin are solidly promoted with responsibilities, plans and resources.
"In addition, CECEP has actively integrated into the regional coordinated development strategy, and has implemented a number of high-quality projects in the Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and other regions, continuously contributing the strength of central enterprises."
