Since China put forward the goal of achieving carbon peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, the work has been steadily promoted in good order with positive results being achieved in top-level design and policy implementation. As a central enterprise with energy conservation and environmental protection as its main business, facing the pressure of short time and heavy task for China to achieve carbon peak and neutrality, how should CECEP make proper contributions?
"To do a good job in carbon peak and neutrality, we should not only pay attention to the top-level design, but also spare no effort to carry out research on the implementation path, and even more, we should combine it with pilot test to give full play to the leading role of enterprise demonstration." Song Xin, CECEP Chairman, said that in 2021, on the basis of vigorously carrying out the carbon verification of the whole group and finding out the property of carbon assets, CECEP compiled and released the carbon-neutral action plan, determined the "1+3+3" strategic plan of carbon peak and neutrality, and put forward the practical and feasible schedule, road map and construction drawing of carbon peak. At the same time, the two-level system composed of a division and an institute on carbon peak and neutrality was established as an active participation in the national top-level design.
On the way of "double-carbon" practice, CECEP has been actively exploring on the combination of its own development with the realization of the national goal of carbon peak and neutrality. Up to now, more than 4,000 energy conservation and clean energy projects have been implemented, and main business development and emission reduction and carbon reduction have achieved "double promotion", among which the installed capacity of green power reached 14.436 million kilowatts, up by 12.5% year on year. The power generation reaches 23.67 billion kWh, up by 33.2% year on year, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 18.024 million tons and saving 7.23 million tons of standard coal. 21.298 million tons of solid waste has been treated, up by 46.2% year on year. The daily solid waste treatment capacity reaches 104,000 tons, remaining among the top rankings of the industry. Water production and sewage treatment reaches 3.23 billion tons, up by 82.6% year on year. The cumulative reduction of COD reaches 458,000 tons, up by 115% year on year, making positive contributions to emission and carbon reduction.
The destination will be reached even though the journey is long and tough. Song Xin revealed that in the next step, CECEP will take three steps. Specific work arrangements will be made from three perspectives: industrial development, technological innovation and emission reduction. The business layout of serving the national "double carbon" strategy will be built, and the service scheme of carbon-related technology will be continuously iterated and innovated to lead the action of low-and medium-emission enterprises so as to ensure that the goal of carbon peak and neutrality will be achieved on schedule.
