Recently, COVID-19 cases reemerged in several areas around China, evoking widespread concern among the public. In this context, CECEP is taking active measures to contain the spread of the virus and maintain stable production and operation, making contributions to epidemic prevention and control on the frontline.

Rapid Medical Waste Disposal to Prevent Secondary Contamination

Upon hearing that Nanjing was in dire need for medical waste disposal and transfer services, CECEP Ecological Environment Protection Industrial Co., Ltd. took immediate actions to form a medical waste disposal volunteer team on the morning of July 28, to help Nanjing with the transportation of medical waste.

The volunteer team, comprised of 24 employees with rich experience in medical waste disposal from the company, headed for Nanjing on July 29, together with anti-epidemic supplies such as disinfectants and protective clothes.

Soon after the resurge of COVID-19 in Nanjing, seven subsidiaries related to medical waste disposal under the company activated the first-class emergency response mechanism to ensure rational, standardized and safe treatment of garbage and medical waste. Statistics show that since July 20, the seven subsidiary companies have collected and disposed of 2,010 tons of medical waste, including 1.8 tons of epidemic-related medical waste. They all adopted the strictest standards for medical waste disposal to prevent secondary contamination.

Ensuring Power Supply for Epidemic Control

Facing the test of new epidemic situations and surging electricity demand in summer, CECEP Solar Energy Co., Ltd. strictly follows the corporation’s requirement for containing the spread of the epidemic while ensuring power supply, providing “dual guarantees” for the company’s safe, stable operation.

Nanjing and Yangzhou PV power plants of the company, which are located in the epicenter of this round of outbreak, have responded immediately by strengthening epidemic prevention and control. Moreover, all of their employees stick to their positions under a 24-hour rotating working system, and spare no efforts to enhance equipment operation and maintenance and ensure emergency power supply for local enterprises and residents in Nanjing and Yangzhou amidst the epidemic. Other PV power plants in eastern China under CECEP Solar Energy Co., Ltd. have also taken immediate actions to prevent spread of the virus. They implement a stagger hours scheme, and carry out comprehensive equipment checking and maintenance to ensure steady growth of electricity generation.

Since the resurge of the epidemic in late July, those PV power plants in eastern China have generated 68.87 million kWh of electricity, guaranteeing power supply for residents in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and Shanghai.

Fighting the Epidemic as Volunteers

In addition to performing their duties in work, employees of CECEP have been committed to fighting the epidemic on the frontline as volunteers.

Upon hearing that the health service center of Anli Community in Daqing Sub-district, Yuhui District, in Bengbu City, Anhui Province needed volunteers to maintain order at the vaccination site, General Water of China Co., Ltd. under CECEP contacted the community and organized 20 young volunteers from its Party branch to help registering personal information and maintaining order at the vaccination site. So far, they have participated in 10 volunteer activities, helping more than 2,000 people.

On August 3, China National Environmental Protection Group under CECEP set up a nucleic acid test site in its subsidiary in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, and helped the local administrative committee carry out nucleic acid tests for nearly 300 people, including its own employees, as well as those from its project contractors and a dozen nearby enterprises. It organized volunteers to help medical staff with information registration, ensuring the nucleic acid test work operated in a safe and orderly way. To strengthen epidemic prevention and control, the Shijiazhuang company provided free masks for frontline sanitation workers to ensure their safety in work.
