The Fuquan branch of CECEP Solar Energy Co., Ltd. was recently registered and began operation under an agreement between CECEP Solar Energy Co., Ltd. and Fuquan City, Guizhou Province, on a PV-powered agricultural project with an investment of 1.5 billion yuan. The project features complementary synergy between agriculture and photovoltaic energy generation to be achieved by planting herbs or crops under the photovoltaic panels according to local topographic conditions.
Construction of the project can help reduce the evaporation of water from plants on gentle slopes and promote PV-agriculture complementarity. In terms of land lease and labor costs, the project will increase income for villagers, consolidate poverty relief achievements of some of the poor households, and reduce government pressure to eradicate poverty. Furthermore, the project is conducive to land value appreciation and ecological tourism, so as to benefit government income generation, set a model for efficient agriculture, and explore new ways to boost rural revitalization.
