CECEP Signs Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement with Harbin Electric Corporation

On July 18, CECEP held talks and signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Harbin Electric Corporation (HE) at its headquarters in Beijing. CECEP CEO Yu Honghui and Chief Economist Zheng Zhaohui joined HE General Manager Wu Weizhang and Deputy General Manager Xie Weijiang in attending the signing ceremony.

During their talks, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on cooperation in areas such as solid waste management and comprehensive utilization, environmental management in ecological and environmental industries, soil restoration, water treatment, clean energy and research and development of equipment for energy conservation and environmental protection.

Yu hailed the HE as the “firstborn” of China’s equipment manufacturing industry which has experienced more than 60 years of growth, and expressed admiration for the significant contributions made by HE to the development of China’s energy industry. He pointed out that considering the strong complementarity and great cooperation potential between the two sides, it is important for both to increase high-level regular communication and establishing a docking mechanism, which will be conducive to further strengthening collaboration between central SOEs, jointly contributing to the comprehensive revitalization of China’s northeastern region, winning the battle of safeguarding blue skies, actively implementing the Belt and Road Initiative, playing a lead role in the campaign of “greater protection of the Yangtze River,” seeking cooperation in the development of the “vein industries” and making tangible progress in expanding market in Heilongjiang and even beyond the province. Both sides should work together to set a new paradigm for collaboration between central SOEs and make significant contributions to the building of a beautiful China, he added.

Wu Weizhang, general manager of HE, showed admiration for CECEP’s active efforts in implementing the national key strategies as well as its high level of commitment to the role as a major platform responsible for the pollution control of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. HE is currently undergoing a vital period of transformation, Wu said, and harbors faith in the future of the energy conservation and environmental protection industry. Both sides should enhance cooperation in market exploration, scientific and technological R&D and technical services, so as to jointly implement the national strategies of revitalization of the Northeast and greater protection of the Yangtze River, better leverage respective strengths in their advantageous fields, boost ecological civilization construction and build a model for tangible and effective cooperation between central SOEs, he concluded.
