From March 26 to 29, the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2019, under the theme of “Shared Future, Concerted Action, Common Development,” was held in Boao, Hainan Province. Yu Honghui, CEO of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP), was invited to the event and attended the opening ceremony.
As a distinguished guest, Yu also attended other activities including the session themed “Role of Enterprises in Promoting Sustainable Social Development,” Energy & Resources Roundtable and SK Group Luncheon, and exchanged views with Chinese and foreign guests on topics such as sustainable growth and innovation and development of energy enterprises.
Yu noted that as a central state-owned enterprise mainly engaged in energy conservation and environmental protection, CECEP was among the first Chinese companies to take part in the global efforts to cope with climate change. Since its establishment, CECEP has been committed to promoting energy conservation and ecological protection. Taking examples of Linyi Circular Economy Industrial Park, energy conservation and pollution control for the “Greater Protection of the Yangtze River” project, Yu shared with attendees CECEP’s experience and understanding in seeking realization of social values as its original aspiration.
Yu’s Boao trip undoubtedly played a positive role in letting the world hear the voice of CECEP, expanding cooperative resources and space, and participating in global ecological governance.
