From March 23 to 25, China Development Forum 2019, themed on “Greater Opening-up for Win-Win Cooperation,” took place at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. At an invitation from the Development Research Center of the State Council, Yu Honghui, CEO of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP), attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech at the session “Jointly Pushing Forward Sustainable Development Goals.”
Under the leadership of President Xi Jinping over the past several years, Yu remarked in his speech, China, as a responsible major developing country, has made remarkable efforts and contributions to coping with climate change and promoting sustainable development. CECEP, a company specializing in energy conservation and environmental protection, has played a key role in China’s efforts to cope with climate change and promote sustainable development, thanks to the great support from the government.
Around the theme of “Jointly Pushing Forward Sustainable Development Goals,” Yu shared with attendees CECEP’s practice and experience in addressing climate change and promoting sustainable development, particularly in three areas: participating in the campaign of pollution prevention and control, carrying out international environmental cooperation and contributing to poverty alleviation.
The first national-level international forum held after the “Two Sessions,” China Development Forum, committed to “Engaging with the World for Common Prosperity,” provides a platform for dialogue among high-level Chinese government leaders, business leaders from around the world, international organizations and Chinese and foreign academics. Since its launch in 2000, the forum has made a positive contribution to promoting development policy exchanges between China and foreign countries as well as international cooperation.
