On December 25, 2018, the National Energy Administration (NEA) issued Notice No. 16/2018, approving the release of “Technical Specifications for Monitoring Systems of Waste-to-Energy Power Plants” (DL/T 1937-2018) and “Technical Specifications for Leachate Treatment at Waste-to-Energy Power Plants” (DL/T 1939-2018) drafted by China National Environmental Protection Group under CECEP. Both standards will officially take effect on May 1, 2019.
Earlier, on April 3, 2018, NEA issued Notice No. 4/2018, approving the release of “Hazard Identification and Assessment Specifications for Waste-to-Energy Power Plants” (DL/T 1843-2018) and “Operation Index Assessment Specifications for Waste-to-Energy Power Plants” (DL/T 1842-2018), both officially adopted on July 1, 2018.
The Technical Specifications for Monitoring Systems of Waste-to-Energy Power Plants, the Technical Specifications for Leachate Treatment at Waste-to-Energy Power Plants and the Hazard Identification and Assessment Specifications for Waste-to-Energy Power Plants were primarily established by China National Environmental Protection Group, and the Operation Index Assessment Specifications for Waste-to-Energy Power Plants was partly drafted by the company.
Thanks to China National Environmental Protection Group’s technology accumulation and experience in production and management over the years, the release of the four industry standards fills the gap of the energy and electricity sectors in terms of operation evaluation and safe production at waste-to-energy power plants. The standards will mark an important milestone in the standardization of garbage power generation, spearhead the development of the industry and promote standardized production and healthy operation of waste-to-power projects that have sprung up in recent years.
