The inaugural “Outstanding Cases of SOE Global Image Building” Selection was unveiled at the Chinese Enterprise Global Image Summit 2018 held in Beijing on December 12. After the organizing committee’s primary review and the final judgement by the appraisal panel, Top 10 Outstanding Cases were selected, including the “localized communication in Sri Lanka” submitted by China Geo-Engineering Corporation (CGC) under China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP).
Jointly organized by China Report Press and the News Center of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) under the State Council, the event consisted of three awards, namely “Outstanding Cases of SOE Global Image Building 2018,” “Excellent SOE International Communication News 2018” and “Outstanding People in SOE Global Image Building 2018.” With the principle of “exploring typical cases, building corporate image and telling Chinese stories,” the selection among cases submitted by companies in various fields on stories happening in their overseas operations provides admirable practices from which State-owned enterprises (SOEs) can learn to grasp the trends of international communication, expand overseas influence and improve image building skills.
With guidance from the State Council Information Office and SASAC, the Chinese Enterprise Global Image Summit is an annual event sponsored by China International Publishing Group (CIPG) and organized by China Report Press. Jiang Jianguo, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Weng Jieming, vice chairman of SASAC, and Fang Zhenghui, vice president of CIPG, addressed this year’s opening ceremony, which was hosted by Chen Shi, deputy editor-in-chief of CIPG and president of China Report Press. More than 300 guests including leaders from state departments, executives of prestigious enterprises, international communication experts and scholars, as well as journalists attended the summit.
