On June 1, the unveiling ceremony of SUC International Exchange and Practice Base for Sustainable Community was held at CECEP Shanghai International Energy Conservation & Environmental Protection Park. CECEP CEO Wang Tongzhou attended and addressed the ceremony.
Launched by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), United Nations Office for Sustainable Development and SUC Project Management Center, the Sustainable Urban Development and Livable Garden Community Programme (SUC) is aimed at providing the best practices and definitions of sustainable cities and communities and constructing international pilot templates for sustainable cities and communities. Dr. Deo Prasad, UNEP senior adviser, member of Asia-Pacific Sustainable City Commission, and editor-in-chief of SUC Sustainable Cities and Communities Criteria, and Li Xiang, executive director of SUC China, also delivered speeches at the ceremony.
