On July 9, the 9th China-Germany Economic and Technological Cooperation Forum took place at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in Berlin. Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and German Chancellor Angela Merkel attended the closing ceremony and delivered speeches. CECEP Chairman Liu Dashan was invited to the forum and addressed the opening ceremony on behalf of Chinese companies.
In his speech, Liu reviewed the remarkable achievements in expanded cooperation between Chinese and Germany businesses, illustrated the importance of establishing a stable, consistent and predictable international economic and trade order while maintaining international rules, and noted that China is pushing forward a new round of reform and opening-up which will bring huge market opportunities for businesses around the world. On behalf of Chinese companies, Liu expressed wishes to further deepen economic and technological cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of energy conservation and environmental protection, which received positive responses from attendees.
After the forum ended, Liu headed a delegation on an investigative visit to three German enterprises and construction sites of four projects, discussing details of cooperation in areas of abandoned mine methane power generation, civil and industrial sewage treatment, and disposal and utilization of poultry waste.
