On the morning of June 10, the 2026 Shanghai International Carbon Neutrality Expo on Technologies, Products and Achievements opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre under the theme “Zero-Carbon Transformation, Empowered by Key Factors”. Gong Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai; Bao Gang, Chairman of the People’s Government of Inner Mongolia; and Liu Zhenmin, China’s Special Envoy for Climate Change, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. In his speech, Liao noted that China’s goals of peaking carbon emissions before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060 constitute a major national strategy planned, deployed and advanced by President Xi Jinping. As a central state-owned enterprise specializing in energy conservation and environmental protection, CECEP has consistently followed Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization and firmly embraced the principle that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets. The Group has actively supported China’s dual-carbon strategy by continuously deepening its efforts in industrial energy conservation and carbon reduction, dual-carbon consulting services, and digital and intelligent dual-carbon solutions, while vigorously advancing the development of zero-carbon industrial parks and empowering the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, CECEP will seize the opportunities presented by high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, actively participate in global climate governance, and continue promoting the international expansion of advanced dual-carbon technologies, high-end equipment and quality services, making greater contributions to the global green and low-carbon transition and the building of a clean and beautiful world.

Both sides agreed that Putuo District enjoys significant locational advantages and a favorable business environment and is actively supporting the development of the Shanghai-Nanjing Industrial Innovation Belt. They noted that Putuo’s development strategy aligns closely with CECEP’s strategic priorities and that the two sides possess complementary strengths and broad prospects for cooperation. They expressed their expectation to deepen collaboration in integrated energy management, ecological and environmental governance, dual-carbon consulting services, AI-enabled green environmental protection, and green trade, jointly promoting high-quality green and low-carbon development in Putuo District.

They noted that Baoshan’s development direction aligns closely with CECEP’s business focus and offers substantial potential for cooperation. Both sides expressed their hope to deepen cooperation in regional energy management, big data and artificial intelligence, solid waste and wastewater treatment, ecological and environmental governance, and the development of zero-carbon industrial parks. They also pledged to continue advancing high-quality projects to deliver tangible results and support the development of a Beautiful Baoshan and green, low-carbon growth.
