On May 18, the Global Trade and Investment Promotion Summit 2026 was held in Beijing. Chinese Vice President Han Zheng attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech, while Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), presided over the ceremony. Liao Jiasheng, Chairman of CECEP, attended the opening ceremony by invitation and delivered remarks at a parallel forum titled “Advancing Industrial Upgrading Through Deeper Integration Between Services and Manufacturing”.
In his remarks, Liao Jiasheng stated that manufacturing is the foundation of the real economy and the lifeline of the national economy. He noted that deep integration between the service sector and manufacturing is the only viable path toward building a modern industrial system. As an important component of the modern service industry, the energy conservation and environmental protection sector plays an indispensable role in promoting the green development of manufacturing. As a central state-owned enterprise focused on energy conservation and environmental protection, CECEP has consistently followed Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, kept national priorities firmly in mind, and actively fulfilled its responsibilities and missions. Through its efforts to support the green transformation of manufacturing, the Group has accumulated extensive service experience and developed a range of mature technologies, becoming a comprehensive provider of energy-saving and environmental protection solutions and integrated services. Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan period, CECEP will thoroughly implement President Xi Jinping’s important instructions on building a global community with a shared future and advancing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. Leveraging its strengths in technology, equipment and operational management, the Group will work with domestic manufacturing partners to accelerate the global expansion of China’s energy-saving and environmental protection service industry, actively support green and low-carbon development in Belt and Road partner countries, and make greater contributions toward achieving bluer skies, greener mountains, cleaner waters and a better life for people around the world.
The summit was hosted by the CCPIT under the theme “Connecting the Future Through Innovation”. More than 800 representatives from foreign government departments, trade and investment promotion agencies, business associations, diplomatic missions in China, international organizations, and Chinese and foreign enterprises from 51 countries and regions attended the event.
