The opening ceremony of the 2026 Taiyuan Energy Low Carbon Development Forum was held in Taiyuan on the morning of September 4. Tang Dengjie, secretary of the Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, delivered a welcome speech and announced the opening of the forum, which was presided over by Lu Dongliang, governor of Shanxi Province. Zhang Shirong, general manager of CECEP, attended the opening ceremony and related forum events and held a series of business meetings in Shanxi.

On the morning of September 3, Zhang Shirong held a working meeting with Lin Hongyu, member of the Standing Committee of the Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and secretary of the Taiyuan Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China. Both sides agreed that, as one of the first national pilot cities for carbon peaking, Taiyuan enjoys prominent geographic advantages, a solid industrial foundation and an urgent need for green and low-carbon transformation. Its needs align closely with CECEP's business areas, including zero-carbon industrial parks, comprehensive utilization of bulk solid waste, ecological and environmental governance, clean energy development, and integrated services for achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, offering broad prospects for cooperation. Both sides said they would closely align with Taiyuan's needs for ecological civilization development and high-quality growth and promote the implementation and effectiveness of more practical cooperation projects.
On the afternoon of September 4, Zhang Shirong held a working meeting with Chang Shuming, vice governor of Shanxi Province. Both sides said that, as a national pilot province for comprehensive reform of the energy revolution and a key region for the transformation and development of a resource-based economy, Shanxi boasts abundant energy and natural resources, a well-developed industrial system and significant potential for green and low-carbon transformation. These strengths closely match CECEP's strategic priorities and core businesses. Both sides expressed the hope of further deepening and broadening cooperation in areas including the resource-based utilization of bulk solid waste, systematic ecological and environmental governance, large-scale clean energy development, and the application of energy-saving and carbon-reduction technologies, jointly contributing to Shanxi's green, low-carbon and high-quality development.
During the forum, Zhang Shirong also attended the Shanxi–central state-owned enterprises meeting on deepening cooperation and other related events.
Zhao Youmin, secretary of the Board of Directors and director of the Cooperation Department of the Group, as well as representatives in charge of the General Office, Strategic Planning Department, CECEP Solar, CECWPC, CECEP Building Energy Conservation, CNEPG, General Water of China, CECEP Data and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Market Development Center, among other units, respectively participated in the above activities.
