On September 4, Liao Jiasheng, Chairman of CECEP, met with Zhang Zhifeng, Director General of the Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center (FECO) under the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE), at CECEP headquarters. The two sides held in-depth discussions on strengthening practical cooperation. Li Xia, member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director General of FECO, attended the meeting.
Liao Jiasheng welcomed Zhang Zhifeng and his delegation and introduced CECEP’s core business portfolio and strategic plans. He said that, as a central state-owned enterprise focused on energy conservation and environmental protection, CECEP is firmly committed to Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization and has consistently served China’s goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality and the development of a Beautiful China. CECEP is also continuously strengthening international cooperation and exchanges and promoting the international expansion of its energy conservation and environmental protection businesses. FECO undertakes the day-to-day work of the Secretariat of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED) and has accumulated extensive expertise in policy research, industrial technology promotion, and regional and bilateral cooperation. The two sides share closely aligned strategic missions and have broad prospects for cooperation. CECEP hopes to deepen cooperation with FECO in climate finance practices, international cooperation on energy conservation and environmental protection, and research on ecological and environmental protection, jointly making positive contributions to global environmental governance.
Zhang Zhifeng thanked CECEP for its warm reception and introduced FECO’s development history and business activities. He said that, as a public institution directly under the MEE, FECO has long been committed to promoting international dialogue and practical cooperation in the green and low-carbon fields and serves as an important platform for China’s international cooperation and exchanges in ecological and environmental protection. CECEP is a leading national force in the energy conservation and environmental protection sector, with outstanding technological capabilities and extensive practical experience. The two sides have broad areas and enormous potential for cooperation. FECO looks forward to further strengthening cooperation with CECEP in policy research, joint research on key issues, and business promotion, working together to contribute to building a clean and beautiful world.
Relevant officials from FECO’s CCICED Office; Zhao Youmin, Secretary-General of the CECEP Board of Directors and Director of the Cooperation Department; and representatives from relevant departments at the headquarters and CECEP subsidiaries attended the meeting.
