Recently, CECEP Eco-Product Development Research Center Co., Ltd. (Research Center) successfully passed expert review for its research project on a certification framework for ecological product value realisation projects, commissioned by the Huaihua Development and Reform Commission. The project serves as a key supporting initiative for Huaihua, one of China's first pilot cities for the national mechanism to realise the value of ecological products, and is also a flagship research project of CECEP.
The research outcomes received high praise and unanimous endorsement from the Huaihua Development and Reform Commission and the attending experts. The expert panel concluded that the study effectively addressed common challenges in ecological product value realisation projects, including unclear project scope, inconsistent evaluation standards, and weak coordination between funding channels. It established a tiered certification framework based on "general indicators + specialised indicators", together with a full life-cycle performance evaluation framework, providing a scientific, standardised and practical management tool for project planning, green finance alignment and the mobilisation of social capital. The framework also offers a model for future certification of ecological product value realisation projects.
Going forward, the Research Centre will continue to deepen its research on ecological product value realisation, further refine the certification framework in line with local practices, and provide professional technical support for the development of ecological product value realisation mechanisms across China, helping transform lucid waters and lush mountains into invaluable assets on a sustained basis.
