Recently, the Shanxi Provincial Energy Administration issued the Notice on Publishing the Adjustment List of the New Energy Storage Project Database for the First Quarter of 2026. CECEP’s 100MW/105MWh hybrid energy storage project in Huguan County was successfully included in Shanxi Province’s new energy storage project database, becoming CECEP’s first hybrid energy storage power station project combining lithium iron phosphate batteries with supercapacitors.
The CECEP Huguan hybrid energy storage project is located in Huangshan Township, Huguan County, Changzhi City, Shanxi Province. The project consists of a 50MW/100MWh lithium iron phosphate battery system and a 50MW/5MWh supercapacitor system. The lithium iron phosphate batteries feature excellent charge-discharge cycling performance, with annual charge and discharge cycles exceeding 500 times. The supercapacitor system offers millisecond-level response capability and is primarily used for primary frequency regulation of the power grid.
Since Shanxi Province launched the application process for new energy storage projects, the Central and Western Regional Branch of CECWPC has actively advanced the development of the Huguan new energy storage project in accordance with the Action Plan for Large-Scale Construction of New Energy Storage Projects (2025–2027) and the deployment arrangements for Shanxi’s comprehensive energy revolution reform pilot program. The company has focused on achieving new breakthroughs in the application of hybrid energy storage technologies and market-oriented operations, ultimately securing the project’s inclusion in the provincial new energy storage project database.
Going forward, the company will continue to strengthen its technological advantages and steadily advance project construction, striving to build the project into a hybrid energy storage demonstration project in Shanxi Province and contribute to the establishment of a new power system in Shanxi and the development of China into an energy powerhouse.
