Recently, the Zhangye Pingshanhu 100MW wind-plus-storage integrated project of CECWPC Northwest Regional Company achieved full-capacity grid connection.

As an important part of the million-kilowatt integrated energy base in Ganzhou District’s Pingshanhu area, the project is located deep in the Gobi Desert of Pingshanhu, Zhangye City, Gansu Province, with a total installed capacity of 100MW. It is equipped with a synchronous energy storage system, forming an integrated layout of wind power generation, energy storage regulation and grid transmission.
Since the start of construction, the Northwest Regional Company has scientifically managed the construction window, coordinated equipment resources, and standardized hoisting procedures. By leveraging on-site support from manufacturers, defects were identified and rectified immediately, effectively addressing the challenge of multi-position parallel construction. It took only 15 days from the first turbine being connected to the grid to achieving full-capacity grid connection. Through design optimization and process innovation, the project is expected to save nearly 100 million yuan (approximately 14 million US dollars) in construction costs.
After successful grid connection and operation, the project is expected to reduce standard coal consumption by about 76,000 tons and carbon dioxide emissions by about 200,000 tons annually, contributing to the green and low-carbon transformation of the local economy and society, as well as a strong start to CECWPC’s 15th Five-Year Plan period.
