On January 23, Liao Jiasheng, Chairman of CECEP, traveled to Ordos to hold working talks with Li Li, Secretary of the CPC Ordos Municipal Committee, and Yu Haiyu, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Municipal Committee and Mayor of Ordos. The two sides held in-depth exchanges on further advancing pragmatic cooperation. Liu Dajun, Director of CECEP; Eerdenbilige, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Ordos Municipal Committee and Secretary-General; and Vice Mayor Wu Jianxun attended the meeting.
Liao Jiasheng expressed his sincere thanks to the CPC Ordos Municipal Committee and Municipal Government for their warm reception and extended heartfelt appreciation for their long-standing support and assistance to CECEP. He introduced CECEP’s overall development, its 15th Five-Year Plan strategy, and its business layout in Ordos. He noted that, as a centrally administered state-owned enterprise with energy conservation and environmental protection as its core business, CECEP has consistently taken Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization as its fundamental guideline and course of action, actively serving the building of a Beautiful China and integrating into major national strategies such as ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin. CECEP has been deeply involved in projects in Ordos including photovoltaic desert control, smart lighting upgrades and ecological environmental restoration, providing important support for optimizing the local energy structure and protecting the ecological environment. He expressed hope that, building on existing cooperation, the two sides would further strengthen collaboration in areas such as new energy development and utilization, new-type energy storage, comprehensive solid waste treatment, ecological environmental governance, and dual-carbon technologies and consulting services, fully leveraging CECEP’s full-spectrum capabilities in energy conservation and environmental protection to contribute to the development and high-quality growth of the Warm City.
Li Li warmly welcomed Liao Jiasheng and his delegation and expressed sincere gratitude for CECEP’s long-term support and contributions to Ordos. He briefed the meeting on Ordos’s economic and social development and progress in ecological civilization. He noted that, as a major national energy base, Ordos has always placed green development at a strategic level. At present, the city is advancing ecological protection, green transformation and energy upgrading based on its resource endowment and development positioning, which aligns closely with CECEP’s core business layout and development direction. With a solid foundation and broad prospects for cooperation, he expressed hope to deepen collaboration with CECEP in areas such as major clean energy project development, bulk solid waste treatment, carbon monitoring and management, AI-enabled energy conservation and environmental protection, and integrated governance of mountains, rivers, forests, farmland, lakes, grasslands and deserts, promoting the implementation of more high-quality projects and achieving mutual benefit and win-win results.
Yu Haiyu spoke highly of the results CECEP has achieved in Ordos. He said that the municipal government will fully implement the decisions and arrangements of the Municipal Party Committee, further strengthen policy support, factor guarantees and service efficiency, continuously optimize the business environment, and support CECEP’s continued development and investment in Ordos with the greatest sincerity and practical measures.
Officials from the Ordos Municipal Government Office, the Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources, the Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau, the Municipal Water Resources Bureau, the Municipal Energy Bureau, and the Municipal Forestry and Grassland Bureau attended the meeting. Also present were Zhao Youmin, Secretary to the Board of Directors of CECEP and Director of the Cooperation Department, as well as heads of CECEP Solar, CECWPC, CGC and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Market Development Center.
That afternoon, Liao Jiasheng also visited Dalad Banner to conduct an on-site inspection of CECEP Solar’s 500-megawatt integrated photovoltaic project for sand prevention and desertification control, and met with and extended regards to frontline project employees.
