Recently, the Ministry of Commerce announced a new list of enterprises authorized to implement foreign technical assistance projects. After a rigorous selection process, CGC was granted, for the first time, qualifications in both the land and resources sector and the technical support sector.
Technical assistance projects are an important form of cooperation through which China helps recipient countries strengthen their capacity for independent development. These projects mainly provide technical guidance for the subsequent production, operation or maintenance of completed turnkey projects, train managerial and technical personnel in recipient countries, and support developing countries in activities such as exploration, planning and research. Nationwide, only 10 enterprises have obtained qualifications in the land and resources sector, and only 28 in the technical support sector. CGC’s successful inclusion among qualified technical assistance enterprises has laid a solid foundation for the company’s steady expansion of foreign aid business during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
