On the morning of December 23, the Group convened a special meeting of the Leading Group of CECEP Yangtze River Economic Belt Pollution Control Platform. The meeting thoroughly implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches, instructions and directives on promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, conveyed the guiding principles of the special meeting of the Office of the Central Leading Group for Regional Coordinated Development and the work-promotion meeting on the Three-Year Action Plan for Yangtze River Protection, reviewed the progress of key tasks related to Yangtze River protection, discussed relevant matters, and made arrangements for next steps. Cao Huabin, Deputy General Manager of the Group, attended the meeting and delivered remarks, while Zhao Youmin, Board Secretary and Director of the Yangtze Protection Division, presided over the meeting.
The meeting noted that, through the joint efforts of all units, the Group has made positive progress in Yangtze River protection and achieved a number of notable results. However, it also acknowledged the existence of challenges, difficulties and weak links, underscoring the need to further strengthen political awareness and practical action to deliver new and tangible outcomes.
The meeting emphasized that, first, political positioning must be further elevated, firmly treating Yangtze River protection as a top-priority task. Second, efforts must continue to focus on key tasks by aligning with the objectives and timelines set out in the Group’s Three-Year Action Plan for Yangtze River Protection, refining implementation measures item by item, strengthening accountability, and ensuring all tasks are carried out fully and effectively. Third, work safeguards must be continuously reinforced by optimizing coordination mechanisms for advancing Yangtze River protection, strengthening resource support, enhancing coordination and collaboration, and fostering a strong atmosphere of joint efforts to protect the Yangtze River.
Officials from the Group’s Yangtze Protection Division, Finance Department, Discipline Inspection Office, Yangtze River Basin Market Development Center and relevant subsidiaries attended the meeting.
