CECEP Charts Course for 2025 Overseas Business Expansion

CECEP held a seminar on January 15th to review its 2024 overseas business performance and outline its strategy for 2025. Party Secretary and Chairman Song Xin addressed the meeting, highlighting both achievements and challenges.  Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager Liu Jiaqiang chaired the meeting, which was also attended by Party Committee Member and Deputy General Manager Cao Huabin.

Song Xin noted that while the Group achieved positive results and made new strides in its overseas business in 2024, it also faced significant challenges. He outlined six key priorities for the Group's overseas operations in 2025: 1. Prioritize overseas business development: strengthen the political standing of overseas operations and firmly commit to an international development strategy, aiming to increase the proportion of overseas business. 2. Enhance organizational structure: improve the organization of overseas business for more effective centralized coordination and management. 3. Foster collaboration: increase integration and collaboration of resources both within the Group and with external partners. 4. Cultivate international talent: develop a strong talent pool with international expertise and experience in international business management. 5. Reinforce ideological defenses:  strictly adhere to foreign affairs discipline and strengthen ideological defenses. 6. Strengthen risk management: emphasize compliance management and risk prevention.

Liu Jiaqiang provided a systematic analysis of the position and advantages of Chinese enterprises, particularly state-owned enterprises, in global infrastructure development and outlined specific requirements for the Group's future overseas endeavors. 

The meeting was attended by heads of various departments within the Group, including Cooperation, Office, Strategy, Operations, Legal and Finance, as well as representatives from related units in Beijing, including China Geo-engineering Corporation, CECEP Solar, CECEP Wind-power Corporation, CNEPG, General Water of China Co.,Ltd, and the Research Center. Heads of overseas branches from China Geo-engineering Corporation also participated.
