On October 29, the photovoltaic (PV) expansion project at CECEP Guozhen Xiaocangfang Wastewater Treatment Plant was officially connected to the grid after three months of efficient construction.

The project adopts an innovative water services + photovoltaics model, making full use of the plant’s existing rooftops and idle land to build a distributed PV power station. All electricity generated is for self-consumption, meeting about 20% of the plant’s total energy demand. After grid connection, the plant’s total PV installed capacity has reached 6.2 megawatts, with an expected annual power generation of 6.2 million kilowatt-hours, equivalent to saving approximately 2,170 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 5,100 tons per year. This project provides a replicable and scalable example for optimizing energy structure and achieving synergistic pollution and carbon reduction in wastewater treatment plants.
