CECEP Wins Three National Science and Technology Progress Awards

On the morning of November 3, the annual National Science and Technology Awards Conference was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The conference announced the Decision of the State Council on the 2020 National Science and Technology Awards, granting 157 national science and technology progress awards, including two special prizes, 18 first prizes and 137 second prizes. China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP) won one first prize and two second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Award.

Specifically, the “Technology and Application of Collaborative Advanced Treatment of Multi-Pollutants in Industrial Flue Gas” project undertaken by CECEP Environmental Protection Equipment Co., Ltd. won the first prize of 2020 National Science and Technology Progress Award. This project was targeted at the in-depth treatment of multiple pollutants of flue gas with complex composition for China’s iron and steel, building materials, nonferrous metals, petrochemical industries, etc. Thanks to this project, technologies have been developed for in-depth treatment of major atmospheric pollutants, such as particulate matter, sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), heavy metals and multi-pollutants, by overcoming a series of difficulties in technical principles, key materials, key equipment and improvement of supporting technical design. These technologies have been successfully applied to ultra-low flue gas emission projects in electricity, metallurgy, building materials and other industries.

The “Key Technology and Application of Clean and Efficient Gasification of Biomass Solid Waste Based on 3S Technology” project primarily undertaken by China National Environmental Protection Group won the second prize of 2020 National Science and Technology Progress Award. Aiming at clean and highly efficient gas preparation process, this project is featured by the innovative technologies of reverse gasification design, secondary co-gasification, and near-synchronous high-solid “cascade” anaerobic fermentation, thus overcoming the defects and incompatibilities of the previous technologies with its advantages of high combustion efficiency, reliable operation, strong fuel adaptability and low pollutant emissions. This economical and efficient key technology of biomass solid waste gasification is suitable for different sources of biomass and technical processes, and has been applied in 18 provinces and municipalities nationwide.

The “Key Technology and Application of Intelligent Monitoring and Optimized Operation of Urban Sewage Treatment Plants” project partly undertaken by CECEP Guozhen Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. won a second prize of 2020 National Science and Technology Progress Award. Targeting the large fluctuation of water quality and quantity at China’s sewage treatment plants, and focusing on the intelligent monitoring and optimal operation of sewage treatment plants, this project has developed the key technologies in simulation, monitoring and optimized operation of sewage treatment plants, advanced the dynamic simulation technology, established the digital model and simulation platform of sewage treatment systems, and built the online monitoring and diagnosis technology system, thus realizing the operation optimization of sewage treatment processes, and forming economical and efficient key technologies for sewage intelligent monitoring and optimized operation suitable for different sewage quality and technical processes.
